With the league's Mid-Season Draft set to take place on Wednesday this week, a portion of the 602-players that nominated their services are set to have their lives change forever.
For the budding youngsters that missed out on selection at last year's national talent market, it will offer them a chance to make their dreams come true - albeit a tad later than some of their peers.

For the wily veterans that have thrown their hats back into the ring, it will mean one last chance to lace the boots and keep their flames shielded from the wind for at least another six-months.
Despite the fact that not every side will enter the draft with a pick available, we have run a fine toothed comb through all 18-lists, and have made recommendations of talent for fans of every creed and clubs of every colour.
Here are the players every club should be considering on Wednesday night.
Gold Coast
Number of selections available - Two
Draft position โ 5th
With many clubs desperate for a ruckman at this stage of the season, none are as keen as the Gold Coast Suns.
Although the Carrara club were reportedly keen on selecting former Swan, Michael Knoll with the 5th pick, these plans were dashed when scans revealed structural damage to the big man's knee.
As Stuart Dew's side requires a ready made big,ย AFL Mediaย has reported that Gold Coast born and former Essendon listed ruckman, Fraser Thurlow is on the expansion club's radar.
Standing just shy of even 2-metres tall and weighing in at over 100kgs, the former Southport Shark would definitely provide his local club with a contest.
The Suns have also been linked with Sturt forward Ash Johnson for their second selection.
Collingwood and Gold Coast are looking at explosive Sturt forward Ash Johnson - the half-brother of Shane McAdam and cousin of Sam Petrevski-Seton & Jy Farrar @AFLcomau https://t.co/do3trX3yHd

Should Johnson jet north to start his AFL career, he will do so alongside his cousin and 2021 Gold Coast debutant, Jy Farrar.
