In a growing tradition on draft night, club stars greet their new draftees and hand them their first club guernsey.
In the mid-2010s, club coaches often presented first-round draftees with their first club guernsey on stage, with number one picks Jacob Weitering, Andrew McGrath and Cam Rayner all presented with a jumper by their new coach. However, more recently, former club legends and current stars and leaders have been granted the responsibility of handing their team's future stars a jumper.
In previous drafts, leaders Patrick Cripps and Sam Docherty presented 2018 number one pick Sam Walsh with a Blues guernsey, while Toby Greene presented number one pick Aaron Cadman with his jumper in 2022.
Most recently, former West Coast star Nic Naitanui presented Harley Reid with an Eagles guernsey after Reid's selection in 2023.
This year's jumper presenters consist of many former club legends and premiership players, as well as current stars of the competition.
Richmond notably have five presenters for their abundance of first-round selections, including triple-premiership heroes Dustin Martin, Trent Cotchin, Jack Riewoldt, Dylan Grimes, and David Astbury.
Former one-club icons Nathan van Berlo, Dustin Fletcher, Jarryd Roughead, and Nathan Jones are also notable names on the list. Intriguingly, Gold Coast's jumper presenter will be 2023 draftee Jake Rogers, a previous Academy selection who will present the Suns' newest Academy draftee, Leo Lombard, with his guernsey.
