Adelaide captain Taylor Walker could come under scrutiny from the Match Review Panel on Monday afternoon, after bumping Western Bulldogs defender Jason Johannisen into the goal post on Friday night.

Johannisen's head cannoned into the post, with the Bulldog laying on the ground for some time before being helped to his feet.

He was helped off the ground but returned soon after and played out the match.

Walker apologised post match, explaining he had no malicious intent, but simply tried to shield Matt Crouch's shot on goal as it went through the sticks.

“I had no intention of pushing him into the goalpost,” Walker said.

“I saw Matt Crouch kick the ball and he tried to pierce it through the goal, so I didn’t want him (Johannisen) to touch it.

“I’ve got his best interests at heart ... I went over to him straight away to check whether he was all right.”

Walker also went over to Johannisen immediately after he hit the post to apologise and check that the Norm Smith Medalist was ok.

The Crows consigned the Bulldogs to yet another loss, with a comprehensive 16.8 (104) to 5.15 (45) win over the reigning premiers.
