Out-of-favour Brisbane midfielder Deven Robertson is expected to seek a move away from the club, with Western Australia a potential landing spot in 2025.
Robertson - who wasn't picked on grand final day against Sydney - will see the writing on the wall, having fallen behind the likes of Will Ashcroft, Jarrod Berry and Cam Rayner amongst the midfield group that boasts Josh Dunkley, Lachie Neale and Hugh McCluggage.
The Western Australian flirted with the idea of moving during the 2023 season before extending for two more years to lock himself away at the Lions until the end of next season.
However, with the inclusion of top-end draft picks Levi Ashcroft and Sam Marshall, the writing appears to be on the wall.
Herald Sun journalist Jon Ralph believes that a move this upcoming trade period will be on.
โHe's not in the side today; I think he's going to get squeezed further down the pecking order,โ Ralph told Fox Footy.
โWe know that, of course, Levi Ashcroft and Sam Marshall are coming in. He'd really like a fresh start.
โThere are clubs that are like West Coast, he is a WA boy โ but they don't want to give up early picks โ so it's going to be a challenge for a lot of players like him (that) want to find a fresh start, but (are) just not able to find a club that's prepared to give up a top 30 pick.โ
Robertson was taken with Pick 22 in the 2019 National Draft and has played 43 games to date, featuring in only two this year.
West Coast would be a suitable landing spot for the 22-year-old, given the club's precarious list position and prior interest in Robertson.
