Collingwood youngsters Harry DeMattia and Harvey Harrison have re-signed at the club on multi-year deals, seeing both players stay at the Magpies until the end of 2027.
DeMattia was drafted by Collingwood in the 2023 National Draft, taken with Collingwood's first selection at Pick 25. The medium defender was unable to break in for an AFL debut in 2024 but has shown promise in an injury-hit VFL season, averaging 15.4 disposals and 3.3 marks.
The 19-year-old injured his finger in February and was ruled out for over two months of the season as he recovered.
The former Dandenong Stingrays captain was drafted for his leadership and competitiveness qualities, whilst his speed and versatility also captured the attention of Collingwood.
Harrison was drafted at Pick 52 in the 2021 National Draft but had his breakout year this season, playing 12 games at the top flight after four appearances in 2023.
A potent forward threat, Harrison was one goal shy from averaging a goal per game in 2024 while also averaging nine disposals and 2.3 tackles per game. A three-goal display against Fremantle and Melbourne in Round 11 and 13 were his best performances this season.
List manager Justin Leppitsch was delighted to announce the duo's commitment to Collingwood.
โIt's fantastic to have Harry and Harvey extend their commitment to Collingwood,โ Leppitsch said.
โThey both are exciting young talent who will be a big part of our future. Since arriving at the club, they've both shown great commitment and determination to continue growing and developing their football.
โWe look forward to seeing what they can achieve over the coming years in the black and white.โ
Both re-signings ensure Collingwood retains their young talent as the Pies enter 2024 with the oldest list in the AFL due to the abundance of veterans still making valuable contributions to the best 22.
Collingwood's first match of 2025 comes in Opening Round against GWS on Sunday, March 9.
