We've scattered back through each National Draft of the past decade to uncover every club's bargain pickup.
This list looks at each club's ability to recruit young prospects in the National Draft, whether it be top-end talents or diamonds in the rough.
Each player was selected primarily by their value for pick, with many players being taken outside the first round. Some players have demanded a spot despite an early draft night selection, however these picks have been reserved for the absolute cream of the crop.
This list only includes National Draft selections - excluding Rookie and/or Mini Draft picks, while father-son and Academy selections have also not been considered.ย
16. Sydney
Chad Warner (pick 39, 2019)
Warner has managed only one full season in his career so far, playing 24 matches in 2022, but is already touted as one of the best young players entering the 2023 season, some even projecting him as a future Brownlow medallist.
He showed glimpses of his potential in 2021 with some highlight plays and standout early career games. But after polling 12 Brownlow votes in an exciting 2022 year and being Sydney's clear-cut best player in a grand final defeat to Geelong, Warner is only now scratching the surface of his future stardom.
Honourable mention/s: Isaac Heeney*, pick 18 (2014)
