We take a look at five of the best swingman over the last 20 years.

The definition of a swingman is a player who can shift between attack and defence during a contest or on a game-to-game basis, not just a utility that has played multiple positions throughout their career.

1. Cale Hooker

Clearly John Worsfold has form in this department, because when Cale Hooker goes forward, good things usually happen for the Bombers.

Following on from his heroics a few weeks ago - when he scored two last quarter goals to drag Essendon over the line against GWS - Hooker was once again the saviour against Gold Coast, streaming forward in the final minutes to snatch another victory for the Bombers.

Hooker is certainly no slouch going forward, and has shown signs well before the last few instances - the All-Australian defender scored 41 goals as a key forward for the 'Dons back in 2017, providing a constant marking option and a genuine forward threat alongside Joe Daniher.

If there's one player you can swing forward and rely on to kick a goal, it's Hooker.
