North Melbourne's Cameron Zurhaar has signed a two-year extension with the Roos, that will see him remain at the club until at least the end of the 2022 season.

Zurhaar has played 28 games across the past three seasons, including 19 in 2019.

"I am stoked ... A happy man," Zurhaar told the Herald Sun.

"It was just good to get the pressure off and get it [the contract] done.

"It means a heap; I finally found some form and played the whole season. To get another contract gives you time, makes you more comfortable. You definitely don’t cruise along with a new contract, but it takes the weight off your shoulders."

The midfielder became a mainstay in Rhyce Shaw's side in the second half of the season, and said Shaw's style is one that fits his game perfectly.

"We are going in the right direction with a very attacking game of footy, I love it. It’s my type of game, being physical," he said.
